Names in The Rain: A Living Memorial

Every weekend I walk along the beach with a piece of natural soapstone in my hand.
I trace the names of those we have lost to the toxic drug crisis — one soft, ghostly mark at a time. The writing washes away with the rain, just as society too often lets these lives wash away.
My son Chandis Adam Strehlen was one of them.
We do this so the names are seen. So the pain is felt. So Vancouver can no longer look away.
Our Mission
We are demanding a permanent botanical sanctuary garden in Vancouver where these names can be carved in stone forever — a living place of beauty, remembrance, and hope.
Print our cards. Join the walk. Help us turn dust into stone.
