Skin in the Game: More Than a Trade

"True mastery isn’t just about skill—it’s about having Skin in the Game. Our flagship vocational program is a 12-week intensive mentorship led by our founder, Angel Strehlen. We take men and boys off the sidelines and put them into the lab and the studio.

Through a curriculum rooted in clinical safety and heritage craftsmanship, our apprentices learn:

  • The Alchemy of Herbs: Foraging and distilling botanical skincare.

  • The Discipline of the Arts: Traditional sign painting, calligraphy, and leatherwork.

  • The Path to Independence: E-commerce, branding, and professional ethics.

We aren't asking for permission to be heard in the art world; we are building our own industry. When you support the Skin in the Game program, you are investing in the resilience of the Vancouver community."

International connections

Our program is dedicated to supporting boys and men across the globe by providing comprehensive resources and services designed to enhance their personal development and well-being. We aim to address the unique challenges faced by boys and men in diverse cultural, economic, and social contexts. Through targeted initiatives, we offer mentorship, vocational training, educational support, mental health resources, and leadership development opportunities.

Our approach is centered on building self-confidence, improving emotional resilience, and cultivating positive role models who inspire and guide the next generation of boys and men. We work closely with local communities, schools, and partner organizations to ensure that each participant receives the tools they need to succeed and make a lasting impact in their own lives and beyond.

By promoting gender equality, breaking down societal expectations, and fostering a sense of purpose and responsibility, we strive to create a world where boys and men can thrive emotionally, socially, and professionally, regardless of their background.
